CELEBRATING THE GIANT OF AFRICA AT 54

On the 1st of October, 2014 which commemorates the nation’s 54th independence anniversary, the anniversary celebration was meted with complains from several quarters, and some politicians lament why should not celebrate this great country, and I have come up with why I would celebrate my father land.
The giant of Africa celebrates 54 years of collecting the flag of independence, which has indeed been 54 years of interesting sojourn on the part to a better Nigeria.
Some would say Nigeria is a giant in comatose, who is not worth celebrating, others would say there is no reason to celebrate this country called Nigeria.

Really, is the giant of Africa, Nigeria sleeping? One might quickly want to answer the question whether or not Nigeria is a sleeping giant, fast asleep. Considering the fact bombings in the North, the South being the gate way of the dreadful Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) and the east being a centre stage for Kidnappings.
I would say we should go on our kneels to appreciate thus far God has helped us in this endowed country of ours, one should also stand up to thank God because we are still standing as a country, One Nigeria.
Why not rise above the negativities, and give thanks to God while we celebrate our dear country, because we still have life to hope for a better Nigeria, we have hearts that can pray for the peace and progress of our loving nation.
Why not stand up with a loud ovation, to appreciate that one country that has vigorously fought Ebola that has claimed scores of lives in her sister West African States.
On a final note, I would say do not judge a 1000th paged book while you are still on its 54th page, the book just started!  Let us work hand in hand to see that Nigeria becomes the beautiful Nigeria of our dreams. Let us celebrate God for the better Nigeria we want to see.
For us to have the desired improvements in our beloved Nigeria, we need to stand and pray for a working educational system, a perfect judicial system, constant electricity, a listening government . . .
Happy birthday Nigeria!!!
Happy birthday Giant of Africa!!!
Long Live Nigeria!!!
